EKISIL was founded in response to the urgent need for safe, adaptable support systems in border communities affected by conflict, displacement, and instability. In these fragile environments, families are often uprooted with little warning, social structures break down, and access to essential services becomes limited or unsafe.

Through community engagement and listening to women on the frontlines of crisis, it became clear that mothers carry a disproportionate burden during displacement. They are caregivers, providers, and protectors, often while facing trauma, poverty, and social exclusion. EKISIL was created to respond to this reality with practical, dignified, and community-driven solutions that restore stability and opportunity.
